Thanks for putting up chapter 10. Having read that I feel quite sick.
Explains a lot however.

in the past, i've tried reasoning with my wife concerning the reading of religious materials to our children but the reasoning is not getting through.
she believes that since my oldest daughter prefers church to the kingdom hall (no surprise) that in order to provide any kind of 'true' religious instruction she must read wt material geared to the kiddies.
in the past, i reasoned that if she insists on reading material to her that will ultimately trash my way of life then i could do the same.

am i the only one who notices a couple of problems with this?.
first of all, passover is on 15 nisan, not 14.. the sheep should prove to be sound, a male, a year old, for you.
you may pick from the young rams or from the goats.
I have got into this with the MIL and she claims the Wt is right and I don't know my bible,
however if you read each gospel and not cherry pick lines as done by WBTS Judas was definitely there.

press release issued by the registrar.
jehovahs witnesses of moscow v. russia(application no.
This subject is brought up in the Jul 15th 2011 watchtower. Both study and simplified versions.
Needless to say the WBTS are claiming victory, however a quick of google shows that the Russians have pretty much ignored the ruling!
last friday, a woman i work with, who reminds me of scully from the x-files, asked me to hang out with her and her friends at a watering hole not that far from where we work.
she and her friends get off roughly an hour before i get off, and considering the amount of work i had on my desk at the time, and the amount of time i wasted on here, i knew it'd would be a while before i caught up with them.
so i told her i'll try, but i won't get off until roughly 6:30pm or later.
Miz - A Scully lookalike invites you out for a drink with another female freind of hers and you bail? Wow just wow! Talk about missing an open goal! Ok she works with you and workplace romances are not always a good thing but the chance to have a drink a laught with 2 lovely ladies, could lead to them introducing you to other more lovely ladies and instead of miz loves elders it could be miz loves the gf!
On a similar note my wife does something similar! Even with mutual friends, we get invited out and then all of a sudden the WT thinking kicks in and she doesn't want to go and I end up going on my own!
She doesn't even realise she is doing it or what effects it has.
But I point this out to her and the same applies to you, Miz. At somepoint people will stop asking because even if you say yes, you aren't going to show, so why bother asking.
Don't miss the boat!
i know i haven't posted much about my kids here lately.... well, my sone is hell bent on marrying his jw girlfriend by the time he is 19. he doesn't want to think about whether the jws are true or not.
he just sees his goal.
(that is, sex without trouble from the elders that is).
Hey OZ
How old is your son?
No kids but I remember when I was 18 or so my parents said I couldn't do something and all it did was harden my resolve to do it!
Ask him if he has considered the emotional side and the commitment. Marriage isn't something to take lightly
Has he had rows with her? Do they communicate well?
What does he want to do with his life, does she have the same goals, hopes , aims, desires? Is she going to support him and vice versa?
Can he see himself with her in 10, 20, 30 years.
Ask him what he's going to do if married life isn't what he expects it to be? Its not as if you can just leave!
Has he considered her feelings?
I am sure you are the same, but me at 19 was very different to me at 24 and really different from who I am now at 33.

recently the mil has been on about how things are getting worse blah blah blah, end of times blah blah blah.. well, sorry but thats not the case!
unless your an england cricket supporter!.
@maninthemiddle - nope not the author but the article caught my attention.
@shamus - Your spot on and I have noticed that witnesses don't do thinking and so the watchtower does it for them and tells them what to think!
by the way! un gros bissou for the monkey!

But while the news is always bad, there has never been a better time to be alive.
The average citizen of earth is wealthier, healthier, wiser, cleaner, cleverer, kinder, more peaceful, more equal, freer and happier than ever before.
Average lifespan is increasing across the globe at the rate of five hours per day. Child mortality has fallen by two thirds in 50 years.
IQ scores are rising all around the world.
London's air and Britain's rivers have never been so free of pollution.
Charitable donations are at unprecedented levels.
The last decade saw the lowest number of deaths in war since 1945 worldwide.
Inequality is falling as poor countries such as India, Brazil and Botswana get rich faster than rich countries such as Britain, America and Japan.
Freedom is on the march - the Russian empire fell, the Chinese liberalised, South American juntas collapsed, Arab despots are toppling.
Soon only a few tyrants will be left - Kim Jong-il, Castro, Chavez, Ahmadinejad, whoever runs Burma and a clutch of increasingly worried African despots in silly uniforms.
And, yes, even happiness goes up as people get richer.
It is easier to be happy when you don't face death, dirt, disease and a long-drop toilet. The average British working man in 1957 - the year Harold Macmillan told us we had "never had it so good" - earned less than a modern father of three gets in state benefits (after correcting for inflation).
In the Fifties it took 30 minutes to earn the price of a hamburger on the average wage.
Today it takes three minutes.
A modern car emits 95 per cent less carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides and hydrocarbons than it did in the Seventies.
The fatal accident rate of air travel was 13 times higher in 1969 than it was in 2009. The death rate from heart attacks and strokes at any given age has halved since 1970.
I lay out these statistics in my book The Rational Optimist: How Prosperity Evolves.
When I was young, nobody told me any of this.
They said Britain was in decline, the world was running out of oil, the population explosion was unstoppable, global famine was inevitable, an epidemic of cancer caused by pesticides was going to shorten all our lives, nuclear war was coming, the desert was advancing at a mile a year, acid rain was destroying the forests, the ozone layer was shrinking and my sperm count was going to fall.
Yet all the time, inexorably - and unheralded in the news - things were inching better.
New ideas and new technologies were being invented to reduce the time each of us takes to fulfil a need or a wish.
All it takes to improve living standards is to make sure energy is cheap and let people work for each other through trade, to let ideas meet and mate - and innovation follows.
Good as life is compared with the past, the future is going to be much better.
For 200 years living standards have been accelerating upwards because trade and communication have been getting easier.
On present trends the average citizen of earth will be at least twice as rich as the average American is today by 2100 - corrected for inflation.
Yet thanks to the internet, innovation has accelerated.
There will still be wars and natural disasters.
But consider this - your probability of death from a storm, flood or drought was 98 per cent lower in the last decade than it was in the Twenties.
so says harold camping-.
-(newser) - as you may have heard, the rapture is coming on may 21, 2011. self-taught radio and internet preacher harold camping is sure of it, and he's got iron-clad logic on his side.
see, by examining carbon dating, tree rings, and other highly scientific data, he's concluded that noah started loading his ark in 4990 bc, he tells usa today.
Cantleave - Been watching dad's army again!
"higher education: jesus warned against seeking your own glory.
(john 7:18) whatever you decide as to how much secular education you will obtain, have you made sure of the more important things?phil.
1:9,10.. grzegorz, the computer programmer, made some changes in his life.
@skeeter - IRC mormons have to give 10% of their earnings to the church every year! Thus the religion encourages people to be educated and be potentially able to go further.

I am sorry but this is BS.
Grzegorz would need a BSC unless he was very talented and even then he would have to special. On top of that I don't know many computer programmers who aren't constantly learning new skills, lanugauges, techiniques to keep up to date with changes in the programming world.
Even in my own job if you aren't constantly improving and learning you will get left behind!
Also the comment made in nicolaou's post about putting homework after meeting attendance and parents talking to the teacher if they couldn't complete.
I am sorry but I can't see many teachers or school buying that one. What happens when it comes to exam time? Oh yeah, thats right you FAIL!
How many talented or brilliant minds have been lost to this?
